Managing Successful Programmes (MSP®) is a globally recognized, valued, and adopted programme management framework. It is designed to align programmes and projects to organizational strategy and to provide governance.

The MSP® 5th Edition Foundation course provides knowledge of how to plan, manage, and deliver programmes from start to finish. This certification is for professionals who are interested in learning how to manage multiple projects and programmes successfully.

This course is for anyone who is preparing to sit the MSP® Foundation certificate examination. The goal is to provide you with a practical understanding of the format of the exam, build up your confidence and understanding, and ensure that you are able to analyse and apply MSP best practice in context.

Target group

This course is targeted to:

  • Programme managers and aspiring programme managers
  • Project managers / senior project managers
  • Business change managers
  • Other key staff involved in the design, development and delivery of projects, including project board members (e.g. executive), project assurance, and project support
  • Operational line managers / staff operating within a programme environment
  • Other key staff involved in the design, development and delivery of programmes, including: programme board members, programme assurance, and programme management office personnel
  • Portfolio management staff
  • Specialist programme staff

Delivery method

Prerequisites

Delegates should ideally have experience of managing or working in programmes prior to attending. Knowledge of the PRINCE2®project management method is advantageous but by no means mandatory; some exposure to a project management method will aid understanding of how the programme works with these projects.

Note: This course may be purchased in conjunction with the 2-day MSP Practitioner course.

Included in the purchase of the course is a digital copy of Managing Successful Programmes, 5thEdition(official manual from AXELOS), PeopleCert’s official training materials and one attempt at the official Managing Successful Programmes Foundation certification exam.

About the Exam:

  • 60 multiple-choice questions
  • 1-hour
  • Closed-book
  • Candidates require a minimum of 36 correct answers (60%) to pass
  • Passing the exam results in a MSP® Foundation Certificate status
  • Candidates taking the exam in a language that is not their native or working language may be allowed 25% additional time
  • PeopleCert requires presentation of a valid photo ID at the time of sitting the exam (e.g. Passport or photo driving license)

NOTE: Starting 2023, all PeopleCert Global Best Practice certificationswill need to be renewed after 3 years.
